Linda A. Carlisle served as Secretary of the N. C. Department of Cultural Resources under Governor Beverly Perdue from January 2009 to January 2013. Prior to that appointment, she was a corporate and banking executive, entrepreneur and active community volunteer. She was a Vice President with Bank of America before founding an office equipment business with her husband in 1979. Their sales and service company had offices in central and Western N.C., before it was sold to a Fortune 200. Linda remained as President until 1997, when she retired to focus on educational, cultural and community interests. She currently serves on a number of non-profit and for-profit boards. She graduated from UNCG (where she serves on the Board of Trustees) and received her M.B.A. from Wake Forest University.
