Laura Budd

Laura H. Budd is the managing partner of Weaver & Budd Law with twenty years of experience in practicing law. Her practice focuses primarily on civil and business litigation.

Laura has extensive experience in the areas of contracts, construction, negligence, fraud, unfair and deceptive trade practices, and appellate law as well as fiduciary litigation in trusts and estates. She practices both State and Federal Court in North Carolina. Laura also regularly teaches classes in continuing legal education to lawyers and has been a guest lecturer and mock trial judge at Wingate University since 2019. Laura is a member of the American Bar Association, the North Carolina State Bar, the North Carolina Bar Association, the Mecklenburg County Bar Association, and the Union County Bar Association.

As part of her desire to invest in and serve her community, Laura currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Mecklenburg County Bar Association, the President of the Matthews Athletic Recreation Association (MARA), and Vice- President of the Piedmont Gymnastics Association (PGO) for Southeastern Gymnastics, is a member of the Matthews Chamber of Commerce, and a Boy Scout leader with BSA Scouts.

Laura received a B.A. in History and Political Science cum laude in 1999 from Ohio University and her J.D. from Wake Forest Law School in 2002. She currently resides in Matthews, North Carolina with her husband, Chuck, three children, Caleb (18), Amelia (16), and Cooper (12), and two rescue dogs, Cole & Beckham.
