In my career, I worked my way up from secretary to Director of Marketing for a male-dominated major high-tech research corporation, breaking a few glass ceilings along the way. After 30 years of corporate life, I was able to follow my heart and transition to non-profit work with the YWCA and then AmeriCorps. I have worked with women, especially disadvantaged women, wanting to be entrepreneurs and I still do some consulting around that work; it’s really satisfying. I’ve always been interested in women’s equality; we are still fighting that fight as difficult as that is for me to believe.
Along with my wonderful supportive husband, I am also very involved with facilitating experiential conflict resolution workshops in prisons; another segment of our society that needs attention and assistance. Being semi-retired now gives me the wonderful freedom to support causes that are meaningful to me. I hope my contributions help make a difference!
