North Carolina native Suzanne Buckley has dedicated her professional career to advocating for reproductive rights. As an attorney in North Carolina, she has championed the rights of LGTBQ families and minors seeking judicial bypass, served in the Governor’s Office, run pro-choice political campaigns, and supported the growth and development of social justice and reproductive rights organizations across the state. In her current work, she partners with national and state-based organizations to develop and run digital media campaigns to shift the narrative on abortion and affirm its value in people’s lives. Previously, Suzanne was the executive director for NARAL Pro-Choice North Carolina, where she led the organization’s political and legislative efforts. In this role, she saw first-hand the importance of electing strong pro-choice women to office, working with elected officials to defeat anti-abortion bills and introduce the first proactive legislation on abortion in decades. For several years, Suzanne was an adjunct professor of reproductive rights law and policy at UNC Law, of which she is an alumna, and frequent lecturer at Duke University and UNC Law’s Festival of Legal Learning.
