My candidacy is an opportunity to send a dedicated educator to Raleigh to speak on behalf of students, parents, teachers, social workers, guidance counselors and support staff. As the General Assembly discusses revamping K-12, I’m the person who should be at the table to speak for us! I was raised in Cumberland County and have lived in Hope Mills for over 25 years. As a graduate of E.E. Smith Senior High School and North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, I understand our history and our needs. I have served North Carolina in local and state government as a community planner, thoroughfare planner, transit planner, a magistrate. Currently, I am a middle school educator and a community college instructor. I have served on many boards and committees. My diverse background would serve our community well and Raleigh. My platform is education, the environment and mental health.
