Valerie Jordan was raised on the tobacco fields of Warrenton. While in grade school, she was on the front lines of the environmental justice movement fighting with her family against harmful chemicals being dispersed in Warren County.
Valerie went on to study at NC Central University, and later an MBA with a focus on uplifting rural communities through economic development. She is the owner and operator of Hunter J Group Consulting Firm and was appointed as the first African American woman to serve on the NC Board of Transportation.
Now, she is running for NC Senate to use her experience to deliver the resources and economic development that northeast North Carolina deserves.
