Julia Greenfield is a candidate to represent House District 100 in the North Carolina General Assembly. She has spent the past seven years volunteering for two political grassroots organizations, Swing Left Charlotte and Indivisible 9, now collectively known as Indivisible Charlotte. Her political volunteer work included knocking on doors, writing post cards, phone and text banking, and calling elected officials, all to further the campaigns of Democratic candidates in North Carolina and in surrounding states. She volunteered with campaigns for Dan McCready, Cheri Beasley and Jeff Jackson; has marched for responsible gun legislation, LGBTQI+ rights and women’s rights; counter-protested and safely escorted women at two Charlotte heath care centers which provide abortion care; and has worked all elections since 2018.
Julia considers herself to be a native Charlottean, having moved here with her family when she was three years old. She grew up on the east side of Charlotte, graduated from Garinger High School, completed college with a B.A. in Sociology and a minor in Psychology from Appalachian State University, followed by nursing school at Central Piedmont Community College. She left nursing to become a full time stay at home mother when the first of her two now grown children was born. She worked from home helping her husband with his medical practice and served as PTO President and
Co-Board President of the Charlotte Jewish Day School. She also served as a member of the board of the Levine Jewish Community Center and was honored to be the first non-Jewish person elected to serve in each of those roles.
