Ann Morris

Ann Morris has more than 25 years experience as a journalist, working as a reporter, editor and managing editor for newspapers in Georgia and North Carolina. More recently, she has worked as director of international missions for a Presbyterian church, developing partnerships and leading teams to Kenya, Mexico, Nicaragua and Haiti. Now focusing on philanthropy and social and political activism, she serves as a mentor for low-income students, volunteers resettling refugees, and is active in her church and with several political campaigns. She also serves on the board of Planned Parenthood South Atlantic. She is currently engaged with Population Services Inc. on a major philanthropic pilot project to improve contraceptive access for women in remote areas of Kenya, with the goal of making implants available through community health workers. She lives in Greensboro with her husband, a journalism professor, and her two daughters, who are currently in college at UNC-Chapel and N.C. State University.
