Valerie Delorse Jordan grew up in rural Warrenton North Carolina. Her humble beginnings taught her firsthand that one person can make a difference. Valerie has been recognized for her innovative leadership style and commitment in helping progressive women get elected.
In March 2016 North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper appointed her to serve on the NC Department of Transportation Board. She currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the Advance Technology, Economic Development & Intergovernmental Relation, ( Chairman 2018-19) and Multi-Modal committee
Her passionate about NC transportation infrastructure and diversity and inclusion led to her appointment by NC DOT Secretary Jim Tragdon to also serve on the Go Triangle board of trustee to represent NC DOT. She currently serves on the CEO executive search committee
Both appointments were the first for an African American woman.

She is the owner and operator of the Hunter J Group, LLC. and earned her BA in Political Science from NC Central University and MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management.
Her greatest achievement life is as the proud mother of her daughter Marquita (pronounce Mar-ke-ta) Jordan and her Grandson, Bryson Jordan.
