And they are often critiqued for the way they speak or dress, and can therefore have a different experience door knocking, public speaking, and debating than white candidates have.

A Texas law that prohibits abortions after around six weeks of pregnancy went into effect today after silence from the U.S. Supreme Court. The law is almost a complete ban on abortion in Texas, since many women do not even know they are pregnant at that point.

Conservatives at the North Carolina General Assembly are fast tracking two anti-abortion bills. Legislators are attempting to undermine Roe v. Wade, which ruled that the Constitution protects a woman’s right to have an abortion without excessive government restriction just as the US Supreme Court announced it would hear another abortion ban case out of Mississippi.
