Carolyn Logan has spent her life breaking boundaries. She was the First African-American cadet with the Asheville Police Department. She went on to serve for thirty years with the North Carolina State Troopers and rose to the rank of Sergeant before becoming the first woman to retire from the force with full benefits. As a mother and a law enforcement of officer, Carolyn will bring a valuable voice in the NC General Assembly.
When in office, Carolyn will focus on three key priorities:
- Increase in salaries for state employees, including teachers and law enforcement, and giving a cost of living increase for retirees of the state.
- Better access to mental health services for veterans
- I support an increase in affordable housing funds and for these funds to be given to counties in need, to help the local governments defray the cost of affordable housing in their cities/towns/counties.
