Women of color who run for office often face many additional barriers in their campaign. For one, they receive on average significantly less money from donors than white women and men of all races. And they are often critiqued for the way they speak or dress, and can therefore have a different experience door knocking, public speaking, and debating than white candidates have.
Abortion Rights Under Attack
A Texas law that prohibits abortions after around six weeks of pregnancy went into effect today after silence from the U.S. Supreme Court. The law is almost a complete ban on abortion in Texas, since many women do not even know they are pregnant at that point.
